Opportunities to Serve:
The different ways to serve are broken down into these main categories (though there are other ways to serve too!):
Teachers: Prepares each week’s lesson and manages the classroom. Also typically in charge of communication with teachers and staff.
Assistants: Helps manage the classroom, prepares snacks, crafts, etc. Helps when conflict arises between students.
Student Helpers: This role is for those under 18 who want to help with students, play games with kids, do whatever the teacher and the assistants ask. Student helpers are limited to serving once a month as to not take away from participation in Student Ministries and Corporate Worship.
Special Needs Buddies: This role assists anyone who struggles to participate in the traditional Children’s Ministry setting. It could be a child with a physical impairment, developmental delay, Autism, or a milder need such as ADHD, learning/language deficits or behavior issues. Special Needs buddies often work in a more specialized manner one-on-one with the students.
There are many other opportunities to serve in crafts, music, games, or any other way that God has equipped you to serve children! We would love to help plug you in where you would best fit.
